My work is heavily influenced by transitions and transitional phenomena. Through my paintings and drawings, I explore moments of secrecy that go unnoticed, moments of social sanctions, and transitions of illegal border crossings.
The foundation of my work lies in the experiences of my own body, which includes forced migration, imposed gender roles, and being a witness to various cycles of war and occupation. I observe and document vulnerabilities, collective resistance, and social movements in order to create opportunities for not just seeing, but witnessing. My aim is to archive what is resisting to be invisible and establish new archives that document collective forms of resistance. I capture places, people in movement and people as part of a movement. Interested in unseen moments and processes that shape both, bodies and landscapes.
